Bronchiolitis And Croup

Bronchiolitis and croup are viral infections that often look very similar to a cold in their early stages. They’re particularly prevalent in winter.

Bronchiolitis

Bronchiolitis is a common viral respiratory tract infection that affects babies and toddlers. So long as bronchiolitis symptoms remain mild, your child can be looked after at home. Symptoms that need further medical review include:

  • Difficulty with breathing
  • A persistent cough (2 weeks)
  • Reduced feeding and dryer nappies

Always seek medical advice if you are concerned about your baby during any illness. Our full article on bronchiolitis provides more detailed information.
